The American School for Diving Vision:

Create a school that follows the concepts of Olympism as a way to develop the youth of the world.

The Olympic Charter states: Olympism is a philosophy of life, exalting and combining in a balanced whole the qualities of body, will and mind. Blending sport with culture and education, Olympism seeks to create a way of life based on the joy found in effort, the educational value of good example and respect for universal fundamental ethical principles. By definition: Olympism is not a system; it is a state of mind: the most diverse educational forms may be penetrated by it, and no one race or epoch can claim an exclusive monopoly of it (De Coubertin, 1918: 55).

The vision behind this school's mission is to create Olympic champions, while at the same time developing these students emotionally, ethically, and intellectually. This vision is based on the belief that a wholly developed person will be more successful in sport and in life than a student who has only one facet polished, however brightly. All graduates of this new program will bring pride to the school and to themselves as they contribute to society in a range of successful and positive ways.
